Biography

His Holiness Patriarch Nicholas I was born on March 30, 1952, in France. He entered monastic life in 1982, was ordained a deacon in 1983, and received priestly ordination on April 9, 1985. He completed his theological studies at the Saint Sergius Theological Institute in Paris.

Since the beginning of his spiritual ministry, Patriarch Nicholas I has devoted his life to promoting the spiritual, cultural, and humanitarian mission of the Orthodox Church, with a particular focus on the Orthodox diaspora in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
