Official Biography of His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel
His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel, born as David Kiknadze, is recognized as one of the distinguished spiritual and theological figures of the Orthodox world.
He graduated from the Theological Seminary of Tbilisi in 1993 and was ordained as a deacon and priest in 1995. During his ecclesiastical service, he was elevated to Archpriest in 1997, receiving the right to wear the pectoral cross, and later granted the privilege of the episcopal mitre in 1998.
In 2009, he was appointed Dean of the Dnepropetrovsk–Krivoy Rog Diocese and served as the official representative of the Bogorodsk Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kyiv Patriarchate (UOC-KP) in Georgia. In 2011, he returned under the canonical jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Church of Greece and was consecrated Bishop of Prague, Rome, and Western Europe.
